Manual Winding Gear is a popular way to retrofit a window with a remote opening solution. It is commonly used in schools, colleges, social care, and hospital environments where running electrical cabling to the windows is not desired. This system is also a good fit for meeting the requirements of the Disability Discrimination Act.
A Teleflex style system is one of the many different components that comprise a manual winding gear system. It works on a simple mechanical basis using a handle to drive the window open and closed. It requires no power supply but does require more physical effort to operate windows, particularly larger banks of windows that will most likely require a number of winding handles.
