Teleflex Window Winding Gear Systems

A Teleflex window winder is an excellent choice for those seeking a reliable, space-saving solution for window operation. They use a flexible cable mechanism, allowing them to operate windows located in hard-to-reach areas or where more direct mechanisms are impractical.

Let us help you choose!

Why choose a Teleflex window opener?

Teleflex window openers are particularly favoured in designs that require a clean, minimalistic design since the cable system can be made to look very discreet.

Additionally, Teleflex window winder mechanisms offer smooth and precise control, making them ideal for both residential and commercial settings. Their durability and compatibility with various window types make them a versatile and long-lasting choice of manual winding gear.

Installation Examples

Below are some illustrations of popular installation formats.  Note: when referring to these it’s important to note the exit position from the operator and the orientation of the chain cases on the vent units.

Single, top hung vent

The simplest installation option, a single window with one or more openers depending on the width of the vent.

Manual Winding Gear Multiple Vents with Junction

Multiple banks with junction box

Here there are multiple banks of windows driven by a single operator. A junction is used to provide 3 different conduit paths from the operator’s 2 exits, avoiding the need to extend a conduit run from one bank to another.

My manual winding gear systems has failed, should I repair or replace the system?2023-07-03T08:39:06+01:00

Typically speaking it’s best to replace the system, for a couple of reasons.  First is that although Teleflex is the best known, there are multiple brands in the market manufacturing winding gear and there’s no easy way to tell which brand conduit or cable you have. Another key reason is that all the equipment is subject to the same wear and tear, therefore, other components are likely to fail very soon.

How do Teleflex and other Manual Winding Gear Systems work?2023-07-03T08:40:36+01:00

By turning the operating handle from an accessible location, you drive a helical cable inside a conduit fixed to your wall. As the cable travels through a chain opener located at the window, it drives a cog which then drives a chain out of the opener body and its links lock in a way that allows the chain to become rigid, pushing the window or vent open.
