Electric Window Actuators

A folding arm actuator can be fitted to side hung windows, doors and vents and can be designed to open either outwards or inwards. They work via a motorised arm attached to the opening that begins in a folded position and unfolds as it is powered by the motor. They are popular for windows and skylights in hard-to-reach areas, as part of a natural ventilation system and for AOVs and windows for smoke ventilation.

For an open out vent/door, the mounting bracket will be attached at the top of the frame and hold the actuator below the frame edge. When used in an open in vent/door the actuator is mounted to the frame instead and a Z bracket is used between the vent/door and the actuator arm.

Linear actuators are widely used for controlling different types of windows and openings to maintain optimal temperatures, provide natural ventilation and effective smoke control. They can be used on – louvre, highlight, sash and top-hung outer windows but are predominantly used for heavier windows and openings such as rooflights, domes, vents and roof hatches.

Your requirements such as the weight of the window, its type, application and the opening stroke length will determine the type of actuator which will be most effective. Our chain actuators come in either 24v DC or 230v AC voltages with 110v AC available on some motors for the US market. You’ll need to pick a control option thats compatible with the type you choose.
