How a Single-zone System Works
A single-zone smoke ventilation system activates automatically when a fire is detected, opening the AOV to remove smoke and heat from the protected area.
In most cases, smoke detectors or call points trigger the control panel, which opens the AOV at the head of a stairwell. Smoke escapes, visibility and conditions in the escape route are improved.
The exact system will depend on the building layout, fire strategy and ventilation requirements. Our team can review your project and help specify a compliant system.
The single zone system will also include manual override controls and battery backup. All components should be tested to EN 12101 standards.
